(b. 1963) Lives and works in Korpo, Turku Archipelago.
Pia Rousku is a visual and glass artist. She uses mainly oil and acrylic paints as well as ceramic and glass in her practice. She often finds inspiration for her abstract works in the seasonal changes of light in the sea and elsewhere in nature. She captures, for example, in her glass sculptures the fragility of the passing phenomena in the surrounding environment, such as the miraculous details in the frosty landscape of Spring and Autumn.
Rousku studied and worked for many years in Stockholm, Sweden, before moving to Korpo. She has participated in exhibitions in, for example, the Art Museum of Uppsala as well as many galleries in Stockholm and Turku. She has had an important role in the recent years in developing cultural activities in the archipelago especially and now has a new gallery, artist residencies and art workshops in Atelje Arvids, which is connected to the small boutique hotel Nestor that she runs with her husband in Korpo.
