Janne Gröning has worked as a professional nature photographer since his career shift in the late 1990’s. The self-taught photographer has gained wide popularity with his images of, in particular, the archipelago and the Baltic Sea. His work is driven by deeply felt ecological concerns and a desire to share his experience of the irreplaceable beauty and calm presence of nature.
Gröning’s photographs have been included in numerous public and private interiors as well as many exhibitions in the archipelago and elsewhere in Finland. He has produced awarded DVDs combining his photographs and the music of Vivaldi and Sibelius. He is also active in local politics and has collaborated with many environmental organisations and causes, such as WWF and Baltic Sea Action Group.
